AN ABERYSTWYH supermarket is encouraging customers to help support a Christmas appeal to help children on Bronglais Hospital’s Angharad ward.
The team at Tesco Superstore on Park Avenue are collecting toys and pyjamas in store to be donated to Angharad Children’s Ward, and have already received some generous donations from customers.
Community champion Sam Rowlands is also asking shoppers to make a £2 donation in return for a chance to win a fabulous hamper stuffed with festive goodies.
All the money raised will also be donated to the ward, so they can buy anything else they need to make Christmas special.
But shoppers will have to be quick, as the appeal ends today, Wednesday 15 December.
To celebrate the festive season, the store also provided musical entertainment for customers on Tuesday December, with the Aberystwyth Silver Band and Salvation Army Choir playing in store.
Sam said: “The last thing anyone would want, especially a young person, would be to be in hospital over Christmas. We wanted to do something to make their festive season a little more cheerful, and would like to thank our customers for their generosity so far.
“We’d really love to see as many people pop in and see us – and make a donation – as possible, to help our young people, and the hard-working team at the hospital, have a lovely Christmas.”
