THE wife of a popular and long-standing ophthalmologist in Aberystwyth has donated over £2,000 to the North Road eye clinic in his memory.

Anjali Roy donated the money to the clinic last week, and was used by Hywel Dda Health Board to buy two ophthalmoscope and retinoscope sets for the facility.

Mrs Roy said she hopes to continue donating to North Road eye clinic each year on her husband, Dr Pulin Behari Roy’s birthday in his memory.

Dr Roy was very well known and was the only working associate specialist ophthalmologist for many years.

North Road clinic consultant Manoj Kulshrestha said he thanked Mrs Roy for her “very kind and generous donations to the eye clinic”.

“It will be of benefit to many patients in the long term future,” she said. “We are truly grateful for her generosity”.
