A WEIGHT-LOSS expert who has lost almost four stone herself is inviting Dwyfor and Meirionnydd residents to develop a healthier attitude to food.

Nikita Jones, who dropped nearly 2.5 stone and 1.5 stone over two stints with Slimming World, is setting up her own healthy-eating class at Neuadd Goffa, Penrhyndeudraeth.

Nikita is excited to be helping people attain their weight loss goals and create a supportive, friendly environment for her group members.

Nikita had previously been unhappy with her weight and image before managing to make some positive lifestyle changes.

She now wants to pass that knowledge on.

“My inspiration to lose weight came when I gave birth to my daughter in 2014 and with the weight gain, my knee injury started to worsen as well as my back aches were never ending,” she continued.

“I was unhappy with my body and the weigh I felt within myself.

“So when a friend invited me to her wedding, I decided that I wanted to do something about it, because I wanted to look and feel good at that wedding.

“Even though that was my original inspiration, once I joined slimming world I noticed that I was never hungry.

“I felt fuller for longer, I was eating loads but the weight was still coming off.

“I started to really enjoy home cooking. I started experimenting with foods. I am a total food lover, so I started looking for ways to make my meals Slimming World friendly and still enjoy all my favourite foods.

“Doing that, I was approached by several people asking how I’d lost weight and saying that I looked good.

“That’s when I realised that I wanted to do the same for others. I wanted to help others feel the same way so they can feel happy about their own bodies without having to starve themselves.”
