CALLOUS thieves have damaged an iconic grade-II listed building by stripping valuable metals from its roof.
The lead and copper thieves have not yet been caught, after targeting Coleg Harlech buildings twice this year.
Following the closure of Coleg Harlech earlier this year, there have been two instances of theft of lead and copper work on the theatre workshop and the main college building Wern Fawr, built in 1908.
Site manager Addysg Oedolion Cymru (Adult Learning Wales) has called for those with any information relating to either of these incidents to contact the police.
Addysg Oedolion Cymru chief executive Kathryn Robson said: “It is heartbreaking to see the building subjected to these criminal acts.
“We would urge anyone with any insight into the vandalism and theft to contact the local police.
“We have taken a proactive approach in protecting the building and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors alike.
“This has led to a number of security measures being taken and repair works have been carried out.”
