DWYFOR Meirionnydd Assembly Member Dafydd Elis-Thomas attended one of the Farmers’ Union of Wales breakfast events, in aid of the British Heart Foundation. The events have been held by the union across Wales for 16 years to support a range of charities and as an opportunity for rural communities to come together to talk. Local members and friends of the Farmers’ Union of Wales enjoyed a week of indulgent Welsh farmhouse breakfast events. Lord Elis-Thomas, who attended an event in Chwilog, said: “The FUW’s annual breakfasts promote the great food we produce here in Wales and is a great opportunity to talk and discuss current issues in the industry. “It’s also a great way of raising money towards charities and I congratulate the union on the money raised so far. “I’ve very much enjoyed the food and discussion here today at Mur Clwt Lloer, Chwilog.”
Gwynedd Watkin, FUW county executive officer for Caernarfon said: “The FUW would like to thank everyone who came to the farmhouse breakfast across the county, I would also like to thank all those who sponsored us.“We have so far raised over £6,000 so far between six locations in this county alone.”
