I would like to reassure Dave Bradney (Letters, 16 April) and those Ceredigion residents with serious underlying health conditions that there is help available.

A family member had a letter advising that they shield themselves due to their health condition and this was followed up with a phone call from Ceredigion council offering help with shopping, medication delivery plus any other relevant assistance. The caller was assured that as family help was on hand this was not required but that the phone call was very welcome.

Despite services not being required at the time, the caller insisted that her contact details were taken so help could be provided should circumstances change. Five stars to Ceredigion council.
