A MACHYNLLETH Guide and Ranger leader has been presented with a prestigious award for her efforts in Girlguiding.

Heulwen Medi, 21, was presented with the Queen’s Guide Award at the House of Commons on Saturday, 20 October.

The award is the highest honour that can be earned in Girlguiding with Heulwen working for almost two years to complete all of the necessary clauses to gain the award.

Heulwen is a leader with Machynlleth Guides and Rangers, as well as the District Commissioner for Bro Ddyfi and the Queen’s Guide Advisor and Peer Education Co-ordinator for Montgomeryshire.
