Reasons why Bodlondeb, Penparcau, should be utilised during the coronavirus:

It has 50 bedrooms, three bathrooms, two shower rooms, two launderettes, two lifts, one able to accommodate profile beds and a medical room.

It has a kitchen and dining room, and provided meals on wheels for so many years every day of the week in Aberystwyth area.

It has gas central heating, a boiler room, parking area for 25 vehicles and is set in its own grounds within two miles of Bronglais Hospital, the ambulance station and three doctors’ surgeries.

Two-thirds of the population of Ceredigion is in the north of the county, approximately 46,000, will they have to leave the county?

Residents, employees, relatives and annual reports until the consultation, never indicated that Bodlondeb was not fit for purpose and did not comply in providing residents’ care, dementia care, care for adults with learning difficulties.

Bodlondeb could, should and would make a difference during the epidemic.

To Ben Lake MP and Elin Jones AM, on behalf of everybody in the Aberystwyth area, can you bring to the attention of Westminster Government, especially the Prime Minister, and the Welsh Assembly leaders, that Bodlondeb home is empty.

They can and should overrule the decision of Ceredigion council Cabinet to close the home.

Cofiwch Bodlondeb.
