A MOTHER has spoken of her horror at finding a used needle with “brown residue on it” just yards away from two schools.

Bethan Roberts, 32, was disgusted to find the dirty needle, pictured right, on the cob in Pwllheli last Monday morning, just a short walk away from Ysgol Cymerau and Ysgol Glan y Môr.

Bethan, who has two children aged five and 10, quickly put out a Facebook post warning other parents about the drug paraphernalia as she was worried that “any child could have picked it up”.

A Gwynedd Council member of staff soon removed the offending item before it could cause any damage.

A shocked Bethan said: “I found the needle on the cob in Pwllheli, it was in the bush area but in plain view so any child could have picked it up.

“The needle had some brown residue on it and I’m certain it was used for drugs.

“Pwllheli has had a problem with drugs for a while and it’s getting worse.

“Even though I know it’s going on I was still shocked when I found it, especially in a place where so many kids live.”
