PET owners in Dolgellau have been left traumatised following a spate of dog attacks.

North Wales Police is currently investigating three separate incidents in Dolgellau which left one dog dead and two pets seriously injured.

On Tuesday, 10 April, Lucy Phasey, 31, and her four-year-old daughter Evie were left horror-struck when their new pet, which they had only picked up 20 minutes previously, was ripped apart in front of them.

The terrifying ordeal took place in Ffordd y Felin in the town when a delighted Evie was taking her new Bichon Frise Buzz to meet her nana.

“This fierce pit bull-type dog leapt forward and bit Buzz and its jaw locked immediately – it shook him around for 15 minutes straight before the dog was stopped by a passersby,” said Lucy.

“It was horrendous, there was blood everywhere.”

The four-year-old has been deeply affected by the incident which left her “badly shaken”.

The following day, another dog was attacked in Dolgellau in an unrelated incident.

Peggy, another Bichon Frise which coincidentally happens to be Buzz’s half-sister, was attacked on Wenallt, Dolgellau leading to two nasty wounds and a hefty vet’s bill.

North Wales Police are investigating both incidents.
