Radio Bronglais has “revived” its lockdown lunchtime request show for the duration of the fire breaker.

From 12pm to 2pm, Monday to Friday, Radio Bronglais is encouraging people to call in, from all over the world, to say hello to their relatives or friends in Bronglais.

Pete Evans, or Big Pete, is holding the lunchtime request show with the help of his wife Marion, otherwise known as Mrs Bear, to help “lift spirits” and to connect people from across the world.

“We held it when we first went into lockdown, for about two and a half months, we started in May and then we finished when things got a bit better,” Big Pete said.

“Obviously last week when we were lockdown again it seemed to be the right thing to do for the next couple of weeks.

“If you’ve got somebody in the hospital and you can’t see them, give us a message, a phone, social media message, or email, and we can put you on.

“We had a Canadian person the other day request Calon Lân. You can be anywhere in the world. A lot of students still ring up because their roots are here.

“We’re trying to get messages across and to lift spirits, and for the people who work there.”
