LAMPETER town councillors have again stressed the importance of affordable housing in encouraging young people to remain in Ceredigion.
During a discussion with members, rural housing enabler Elen Grantham suggested they could help in the setting up of a local lettings policy.
“We’re always concerned about housing youngsters, because they just cannot afford to get on the first rung of the property ladder,” said Cllr Kistiah Ramaya.
“They need affordable, low-cost housing – if it’s just a one-bedroom flat initially, then that’s fine.
“One of the reasons a lot of people are moving out of the county is that they cannot afford anywhere to live.”
