OVER 750 runners braved blustery conditions for the 21st Cambrian News Aberystwyth charity 10k race, held in Aberystwyth today (Sunday).
Organised by Aberystwyth Athletics Club, the race was held this year in honour of race founder Carl Williams who sadly passed away last month.
A prize-giving ceremony was held in the bandstand after the race, which is sponsored by the Cambrian News.
Everyone who completed the race received a special cast medal courtesy of the Cambrian News.
The Cambrian News adopted the race 10 years ago – as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations – to ensure its survival, and the race has gone from strength to strength since then.
The race is now organised by Aberystwyth Athletics Club and Carl Williams, and the Cambrian News is the main sponsor.
Thousands of runners have taken part over the years, raising over £200,000 in total for charity so far.
All profits from the entry fees go to local charities and organisations. But runners can also raise money for the charity of their choice.
