A HUSBAND and wife team from Harlech will be taking their relationship to another level when they both take part in the London Marathon later this year.

Simon and Judith Strevens are running the world-famous 26.2 miles to raise money for a charity close to their heart.

Simon, who is a former soldier with the Parachute Regiment, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 40, in 2017.

The diagnosis came as a huge blow to the couple, but they have decided to turn a negative into a positive and this year they will take on this year’s London Marathon in order to raise much-needed funds and also to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease.

Simon and Judith will join a team of runners aiming to raise £325,000 for Parkinson’s UK, when they run the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday, 28 April and will also be putting their skills to the test next month when they take on the Anglesey Half Marathon on Sunday, 3 March.

Simon and Judith hope to raise over £4,000 by running the iconic 26.2-mile route across London, where they met 10 years ago.

Paul Jackson-Clark, director of fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said: “We are thrilled to have such a large team running for us this year. The London Marathon is such an iconic event, and taking part is a fun and challenging way to raise vital funds to support our work.”
