A WOMAN from the Llyn Peninsula is in hospital after being only metres from the terrorist blast that killed 22 people in Manchester on Monday evening.

Taking to Facebook, the woman’s husband said that she had been in the foyer at the time of the explosion and had been taken to Wythenshaw Hospital via Manchester Royal Infirmary.

She had suffered a few injuries that she will get over given time, he said, adding: “Thank you to all for your wishes and messages of support”.

The sickening atrocity saw 22 people killed, and 59 people injured, when 22-year-old Salman Abedi blew himself up in a suicide attack.

The blast happened in the foyer of Manchester Arena as a concert headlining Ariana Grande was concluding at approximately 10.30pm. The vast proportion of the singer’s fanbase are in their teenage years.

As a result of the bombing, the UK Government has increased the security level to critical, meaning they fear another attack may be imminent.

North Wales Police say they are deploying extra officers at key locations and large gatherings for public reassurance.

A vigil will be held today in Porthmadog to remember the victims of the attack.
