AN inquest has been held into the death of a pedestrian in a collision on a main road at Bryncrug last October.
Anthony Brown, from Wolverhampton, was involved in a collision with a van on the A493 shortly before 9.45pm on Saturday, 5 October, 2019.
The 38-year-old sadly died at the scene.
An inquest in Caernarfon on Monday heard Mr Brown had been drinking, with toxicology reports showing he was just over two times the drink-driving limit.
Forensic collision investigator, Emma Dainty, said Samuel Oliver, the driver of the vehicle, would not have been able to see Mr Brown and the verdict was given as death by road traffic collision.
Paying tribute to Mr Brown at the time of his death, his family said: “Anthony was loved by all his family and he will be missed immensely.
“He had travelled to North Wales by train and was staying locally where we know he had enjoyed a night out in Tywyn on Friday evening and was looking forward to the rest of his weekend.
“We would like to issue our heartfelt thanks to all of the emergency services who did their best to save Anthony. We would now ask for privacy at this most difficult time.”
