A well-known dance teacher on the Ll?n peninsula has launched the story of her life in the autobiography, Gaynor Owen My Life.

Gaynor – associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, fellow and examiner of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (modern, theatre, tap and ballet) – launched the book at the Prince of Wales in Criccieth on Thursday, 2 December.

Former students and long term friends were invited to the celebration of Gaynor’s adventurous and eventful life.

Gaynor is a well-respected resident of the area and, as a dance teacher, she has 70 years’ experience of teaching children and adults to a professional level.

For the last 30 years she has done this in Criccieth and Porthmadog. She is also the founder member of Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre which is a full-time college in Liverpool.

“I have lived in this area for 25 years and love being part of the local community,” said Gaynor.

She is also well-known on the international dance circuit.

As a highly-qualified dance examiner her work has taken her all round the world.

During the Covid-19 lockdown period, her good friend, Myra Poyser, suggested that after such an interesting and varied life, she should commit her experiences to paper.
