Perhaps Cllr Mark Strong should put his cup of tea down and look at pushing the council to pass a bylaw prohibiting parking on pavements. That way, the four full-time county council civil enforcement officers would have the power to issue tickets to these motorists, and the revenue generated used to fund another officer whose job it is to deal solely with parking offences of this nature. Then the police can get back to their actual job of fighting crime, attending crashes, burglaries, assaults etc. Just a thought. Maybe Cllr Strong should ask what he can do instead of trying to pass blame onto others who already do a very difficult job.
