Madam,
Having worked in the NHS for 30 years (recently retired), this recent proposal for nurses to work unpaid is nonsense. Why is it that outside consultants, costing thousands of pounds, are paid to provide solutions to problems?
What are the managers doing, who are paid £100,000-plus? Surely this is their job? Also why is it that savings have to be made from frontline staff?
There should be an investigation into how many top-paid managers are employed by the NHS. The shortage of nurses could surely be solved by employing agency staff on a permanent basis.
Yours etc, K Williams, Dolgellau.
