AN ABERAERON businessman has become possibly the youngest mayor in the town’s history.
Rhys Davies, whose family run The Hive restaurant, took over the mayoral chain from Cllr Tom Williams last week at the age of 30. “Thank you for the opportunity and hopefully I will do a good job,” Cllr Davies told colleagues.
Reflecting on what he described as a “brilliant” year, Cllr Williams listed the town’s Seafood Festival, Cobs Festival, Sevens rugby tournament, carnival and fun run as among its highlights.
Cllr David Jones will serve as deputy mayor in the coming year.
