Karin Davies has been growing her hair since February 2016 to help the Little Princess Trust and has now donated her locks to the charity.

The trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

“Most donations are between 17 and 30cm in length,” Karin said.

“As 10cm of hair is lost during wig making, the Little Princess Trust was asking for donations over 30cm in order to make some longer wigs. My donation was around 35cm.”

Now, Karin’s daughters, Janie, 12 and Rosa, 6, are both hoping to donate their hair.

As well as donating her hair, Karin has also been raising money. “As each wig costs between £350 and £500 to make, I wanted to do more than just donate my hair,” she said.

“I have a JustGiving page I have been using to gather donations for the charity.”

Karin has raised £260 so far. To help her raise more, visit: justgiving.com/fundraising/karin-davies
