A DESPERATE hunt is under way to try to trace the owner of a wedding ring found at The Bunch of Grapes Inn in Newcastle Emlyn.

Landlady Valerie Wylie found the missing silver ring on the afternoon of 24 September after its owner had called to look for it.

“The ring was lost at the Bunch on 23 September after a gentleman and his wife came here for food and drink,” she said.

“The man in question returned early afternoon the following day to see if we had found the ring. We hadn’t found it by then, and we didn’t think of asking for his contact details.

“I was then cleaning the bar area, and found the ring on the floor at the edge of the bar.”

She said she would really like to find the owner of the ring as she feels it obviously has huge sentimental value.

“It must have sentimental value and it would be great to reunite the ring with its owner,” she said.

“It has a hallmark on it and the lady who wears it must have very small fingers.

“None of the locals who were in here at the time knew the gentleman, and even though we’ve had over one hundred shares on Facebook, we still haven’t been able to trace him.”
