Madam,
I read your article regarding plans for an ‘upgrade’ at Machynlleth train station with dismay. This is a lovely little local station complete with its own café and already has new toilets.
Reading of “shops” made me think of Costa, WH Smith etc. Are we to have the sort of bland railway station we see everywhere else? Is our station to lose its unique rural identity?
Who has been consulted about this?
This could impact on Tuffins and other shops in our community and in my view is a waste of money that would be better spent giving us a better train service or more carriages.
Yours etc, Anne Toms, Cae Crwn, Machynlleth.
