This week I have had the great honour of taking over from Bev Thomas as Editor of the Cambrian News.

Bev is stepping down from the editorship after 21 years in the role, and leaves the paper in wonderful shape, as the best-selling weekly newspaper in Wales and the Welsh Weekly Newspaper of the Year 2019.

These are just two of the many accolades the Cambrian News has attracted under the leadership of Bev, who has worked tirelessly to fight for the interests of all Cambrian News readers during her four decades with the company.

I thank Bev personally for her support and mentorship since I started work at the Cambrian News 13 years ago as Chief Sub Editor, then for the last decade as Assistant Editor.

Bev’s are very big shoes to fill, but I hope to follow in her footsteps, with the help of our fantastic team, highlighting all your triumphs, holding authority figures to account, fighting against injustices, and covering all the big stories that affect our communities.
