Madam,
The last two editions of the Cambrian News have included letters, ‘Llanon is turning into the Wild West’ and ‘Two upsetting incidents have affected our village’.
The authors of these letters presumably are residents of Llanon but both have chosen to hide behind ‘Name and address supplied’. My question to them is why?
Many thousands lost their lives fighting two world wars so that future generations can speak freely, so if you have something to say have the courage of your convictions and allow your names to be printed.
There are instances when sensitive issues demand names not being published but criticism of a democratically elected community council is, in my opinion, not one.
Another regular correspondent is Llanon resident Sue Slocombe.
Sometimes I agree with her viewpoints and on other occasions I do not, but she is always prepared to put her name to the letters and I therefore respect her opinions.
Yours etc, J A Davies, Stryd-yr-Eglwys, Llanon.
