The railway line between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno has been crippled once again by a spring storm.
Network Rail and Transport for Wales confirmed this week that Storm Hannah had caused severe damage to the Conwy Line leaving it closed for the forseeable future.
It’s the second time this year the line has been forced to shut, with a rockfall near a tunnel stopping services earlier this year.
The line was also closed for several weeks in 2017 after Storm Doris swept through.
Network Rail are unsure how long it will take to repair the line.
A spokesperson, in a statement, said: “We apologise to passengers who have been affected by the closure of the Conwy Valley Line. This is due to significant flooding, which has caused severe damage to the railway and lineside equipment.
“To keep passengers safe, the line will remain closed until our engineers have completed detailed assessments and delivered any necessary repairs.
“We are working closely with Transport for Wales to keep passengers moving during the closure of the line, and a rail replacement bus service will be in operation until it reopens.
“We will continue to keep passengers and the local community informed while the essential repair work is completed.”
