Mefus a Hufen
NOS Wener, 1 Gorffennaf, cynhaliwyd noson o fefus a hufen yn Nhresi Aur a da dweud fod cartref Mair Davies yn orlawn gydag aelodau’r eglwys, aelodau a ffrindiau neuadd Tregroes a ffrindiau arbennig Mair.O ganlyniad codwyd swm anrhydeddus o £1,400 tuag at yr eglwys a’r neuadd mewn un noson o gwmnïaeth hyfryd a bwyd arbennig.Diolch i Megan Thomas, Aberaeron, am agor y noson ac am ei chyfraniad hael.Cyflwynodd Mair Davies flodau a llun o Eglwys Tregroes iddi, gyda Rhian Jones yn cyflwyno blodau i Mair am ei lletygarwch a’i gwaith caled.Diolch hefyd i bawb am gefnogi ac a weithiodd yn galed er llwyddiant y noson.
Papa Gee
AN ENJOYABLE evening was held at the Power House in Pontweli on Saturday to celebrate 55 years in music of Papa Gee.It was nice to see a few present and to hear the lovely music.
Carnival
YET again it was a very successful event, with the week beginning with the car treasure hunt on Monday with 20 cars taking part.On Tuesday there was bingo at the Porth. Thanks were given for the hospitality and the support, also to members of Aweldeg League of Friends for their support.Thursday was the barbecue, and despite the weather, everyone had an enjoyable evening with strawberries and cream, plenty to eat and also some sumo wrestling, which was enjoyed by all and won by Cadi Rees. Due to the football, the quiz was cancelled, but it has been re-arranged for Friday, 29 July.On Saturday residents saw Llandysul at its best, with many floats processing through the village.The queen’s float looked very pretty, while so many dressed for the carnival, with a band and many other attractions.Thanks to all who supported and made the carnival a success.The presidents were Cllr Peter and Bethan Evans and the vice-presidents were David and Sylvia Williams.Thanks were given to them for their attendance and support. Sunday evening saw the end to a busy week of carnival events.Community singing was held, with Gwion Thomas, Croeslan and Ysgol Gynradd Llandysul taking part.The condutor was Keith Evans and the organist was Martin Griffiths.
Bingo
THERE will be a night of bingo at the Porth Hotel on Wednesday, 13 July, at 7.30pm.The evening is in support of the youth fly-fishing team who will compete at Ireland in August.
Mothers’ Union
AN OPEN trip has been arranged for Tuesday, 26 July, to the POW Church at Henllan at 11am, with lunch at the Red Lion, Drefach Felindre. Contact Beth on 07901 716957 for further information.
