Rotary Youth Leadership Programme
EVERY August, the club sends at least one Llanidloes student on the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).
This annual course started over 50 years ago and is run by Rotary Clubs Worldwide.
The principal aims of RYLA are to provide an effective training experience for selected young people and potential leaders, to encourage leadership of young people by young people and to recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities.
Our areas event takes the format of an activity training course for selected young people aged 16-18 at the Arthog Activity Centre near Barmouth.
The centre is beautifully situated on the slopes of Cader Idris overlooking the sea, and has purpose-built and recently redeveloped accommodation, with its own laboratory, library and extensive grounds which include a high ropes course, where the students are given the opportunity of experiencing practical learning combined with current best practice in leadership training, all delivered by specialist qualified tutors.
If you would like to be considered for next year’s course, please make contact with a local Rotarian.
