Community council
THE community council met on 1 June to discuss the correspondence and concerns raised by the community. The county council had not responded to the requests made last month, namely to alter the speed limits on the B4337 from Hafod Newydd to the village, and on Church Street.
It was reported that the current speed limits were adequate as there had been no injury-related collisions recorded over the last five years on either road.
Notice was received that the builder of 39/40 Heol Isfoel had appealed to the Planning Inspectorate Wales against Ceredigion’s planning authority’s decision.A revised code of conduct was adopted by the councillors. They also welcomed the Cabinet decision not to charge post-16 students for travel to school or college and noted the decision relating to spare seat provision. Notice was received of two public meetings, one to be held at Penmorfa, Aberaeron, on 15 June when the public can have their say on community safety matters, and one to be held in Felinfach Memorial Hall on 27 June by the Mid Wales Healthcare Collaborative where the public can have their say on health-related matters.Decisions were taken to allow the National Library to copy the community council’s website into the UK web archive, but not to allow the playing field to be part of the Centenary Fields programme run by Fields in Trust. Two matters raised by the community were that large lorries were causing damage when having to turn around in Cwm Mabws and that the four mile-stones within the council’s area needed to be cleaned.
The clerk was asked to contact the county council regarding these matters.
The next meeting will take place on 6 July at 8pm in the Memorial Hall.
