A NEW fundraising group is in the process of being formed which will meet in Porthmadog to help raise vital funds to support the local Marie Curie nurses.
The charity is appealing for local people to become involved by joining the Porthmadog Fundraising Group.
Community fundraiser, Victoria Hardy said: “Our new group will need all sorts of different people, who are good at all sorts of different things, so whatever you like to do; there is a place for you in our new group.
“From giving an hour of your time to help at a Great Daffodil Appeal Collection, to baking cakes, knitting, helping to promote the group and organising events, to helping to count and bank the money raised, it will all make a big difference and you can be sure that the funds you are helping to raise will be used to support the local service.”
On Wednesday, 9 November, Marie Curie will be holding an informal gathering for anybody who is interested in learning more about their plans at The Glaslyn Leisure Centre at 5.30pm.
Local Marie Curie nurse, Susan Thomas will be on hand to talk about her role in the community, and members of the fundraising team will be on hand to answer any questions.
