Age Cymru and a partnership of national older people’s groups would like to hear about the experiences of 50-plus readers during the Covid-19 lockdown, whether they were shielding, self-isolating, living alone or with family members.
The partnership, which includes Cymru Older People’s Alliance, the Welsh Senate of Older People, Active Wales, National Pensioners Convention Wales, and Pensioners Forum Wales, also wants to know what your older readers believe is needed to help them re-engage with community life as the lockdown begins to ease.
In particular, we would like to hear how older people accessed information, did they rely upon TV, radio, internet or family and carers? Also what sort of support did your older readers get from local authorities, voluntary groups, family and neighbours? And, if needed, were they able to access health and social care services during lockdown?
We need to be fully informed of older people’s views to help us work effectively with the Welsh Government and help build confidence amongst our older population.
To take part in our research, older readers can write to us at Age Cymru, FREEPOST RTZGJHGCRYJJ, Ground Floor, Mariners House, Age Cymru, Trident Court, East Moors Road, Cardiff CF24 5TD. Or complete our survey online www.agecymru. org.uk
The deadline is 1 September.
