A COUPLE living in a village near Lampeter are backing a campaign for a bereavement suite at Carmarthen’s Glangwili Hospital after suffering the heartache of losing twin baby girls last year.
Carwyn and Non Edwards believe such a facility would ease some of the trauma of bereaved parents following their own distressing experience.
“What happened last October was very traumatic – the worst experience of our lives,” Non, 33, from Pumsaint told the Cambrian News.
“We received amazing care during our time at the hospital and we are very grateful for this.
“Unfortunately there is no facility at present for parents and their families to go to deal with such a situation, therefore we are raising money for a much-needed bereavement suite.”
Although Non is a member of Sarn Helen Running Club it is her farmer husband who will be tackling both the Pumpsaint Half-Marathon tomorrow and Marathon Eryri on 29 October in order to raise funds, as well as awareness, for the campaign.
