Madam,

Further to last week’s letters regarding Tree. I may be regarded by some as one of those ignorant, uninformed, bad-tempered, tiny minority who object to this work by Rob Davies. However, I don’t see myself as any of those things so instead I write as someone who has been inspired, heartened, helped, motivated and uplifted by the strength of the people who have chosen to stand up and do something about a thing they don’t want.

I want to share the many good things that have come out of the process so far. The fact that people have taken a renewed sense of ownership and pride in their Borth, the fact that new friendships and support networks have been forged and the fact that people are talking, laughing, sharing and working together on this.

All of these great positives mean that in our day-to-day lives we are more engaged, connected and involved in the place that we live.

The truth is that no-one knows how many people are for or against Tree – it is immeasurable and irrelevant. What does matter is that everyone has the right to express an opinion and that their views are respected.

We are each individually responsible for how we feel about things and we must take responsibility for how we let things affect us.

Hand-on-heart, Tree has helped me through some very dark times in my life. Thank you Rob Davies, you have given me the focus and direction to get my life back on track.

Yours etc,

Kim Williams, Borth.
