A CHWILOG builder, who is lucky to be alive after suffering a cracked skull in a car crash, has said a special thank you to paramedics who came to his aid.
Tom Parry Jones suffered serious injuries during a crash at the end of October last year when his car flipped over during bad weather on the A497 in Criccieth.
The 28-year-old suffered a cracked skull, bruised 50 per cent of his lungs, broke one of his eye sockets and was badly bruised in the crash.
He was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd and then on to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Tom’s fiancée, Bethan Jones, 27, told the Cambrian News that her partner was lucky to be alive following the crash.
She said: “We still don’t know what happened that day to cause the crash, but we think the bad weather certainly played a huge part.
“It was a really serious car crash, his car had rolled over a couple of times and he was unconscious and still to this day can’t remember anything about what happened.
“He was very lucky that a couple who were driving nearby stopped to help him and the lady, Janet, who had previously worked as a nurse, brought him back round.”
“We really wanted to thank the air ambulance for what they did that day for Tom, they really are amazing,” added Ms Jones.
“We depend on them so much in our rural area and they make a real difference. “
Mr Parry Jones, a self-employed builder, was off work for three months following the crash, but has since made a full recovery.
