Club Maglona

STARTING at 2pm, the Machynlleth Bowling Club will be the venue for Club Maglona – Bro Ddyfi Senior Citizens’ annual general meeting on Thursday, 28 January.

Pool

ROUND eight of 18 saw little change in Division One of the Machynlleth and District Pool League on Thursday, 7 January, as top teams Lew Coch A (12-3) and Skinners A (10-5) secured strong results.Results: Llew Coch B 6 Rugby Club A 9; Rugby Club B 5 Skinners A 10; Llew Coch A 12 Bowling Club 3; Tredegar Arms 10 Dwynant 5; White Horse A 4 White Lion A 11.Table: Llew Coch A (24 points), Skinners A (21), White Lion A (19), Tredegar Arms (15), Rugby Club A (12), Dwynant (9), White Horse A (6), Rugby Club B (6), Bowling Club (6), Llew Coch B (3). Folk concert

A FOLK concert will be held in a fishing boat beside the Dyfi on Saturday, 23 January, at 7.30pm in the Boy John, Fron Goch Boatyard, LL35 0RG.Advance tickets are £5 and are available from the Deco Shop.

Library event

ON FRIDAY, 29 January, at 6pm local author Gill Gascoigne will be giving an English language talk, ‘A Memorable Man’, at Machynlleth Library.

Dyfi U3A

MEMBERS were entertained at their 15 January meeting by Rod Evans, whose talk was about a man with local connections.If you are interested in finding out more about U3A come and see for yourself at the next meeting on Friday, 19 February.
