I’m deeply concerned that the general public do not see a need for either wearing face coverings, nor social distancing. I’ve visited Tywyn beach, Dolgellau Co-op and many other places where, even if I politely ask passers-by to keep their distance, they aggressively reply with comments such as, “we don’t have to in Wales”, “it’s all hype”, etc.
The NHS has already lost many of its staff and many are already stressed to the maximum. People don’t want a ‘nanny state’ but they’re either not listening to the news, disbelieve what they hear, or don’t care. Many people even use the flawed information that more people are dying of the common flu and pneumonia than Covid-19.
In my opinion, if the economy is to get back on its feet soon, the only way is for everyone, who is able, to wear full face coverings to avoid any risk of the infection spreading.
I urge everyone to help each other in this continuing crisis and discard the face coverings safely to avoid them getting into the sea, or left on land etc.
