A MAJOR European farming representative will be in Dolgellau next week.

Adam Bedford, director of the British Agriculture Bureau in Brussels, is the guest speaker at the NFU Cymru Meirionnydd County Conference on Wednesday, 20 January.

Held at Dolgellau Rugby Club, the conference is a “fantastic opportunity” for farmers to discuss European agricultural policy.

NFU Cymru members are invited to listen to Adam speak about the work of the NFU out in Brussels, including the European Commission’s priorities, trade deals and the EU/UK referendum.

Following Adam’s address, those present will also have an opportunity to take part in a question and answer session.

A “straight talking north of England man”, Adam is currently the acting director of the NFU BAB office and has worked in this office as the European Policy Adviser since April 2012. He covers topics connected to the food chain, research and innovation, rural development and animal health and welfare.

Lewis Williams, chair for NFU Cymru in Meirionnydd said: “We are very grateful to Adam for agreeing to come and speak at our conference.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for members to get an insight into the policies and decisions coming out of the EU."
