Forecasters are warning that snow will fall over much of Wales tonight, with as much as 8cm possible.
Following a mild winter, arctic winds are currently flowing over Wales and this chill is likely to bring flurries of snow over much of the country tonight.
A yellow warning for snow has been issued from 8pm this evening until 10am Wednesday, with forecasters warning of widespread snow and ice.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Wintry showers are expected to continue through Tuesday night and Wednesday morning leaving surfaces wet and leading to icy stretches developing on untreated surfaces.
"These showers will fall as a mixture of rain, hail and snow at times, the snow mostly over higher ground.
"Some places are likely to see 1 to 3cm of snow, mainly above 200m, with 4 to 8cm possible over the higher ground in northwest England, Wales and west Scotland."
