A FAIRBOURNE woman is set to undertake a gruelling 100km trek in a bid to raise funds and awareness for a men’s mental health charity.

Michelle Lloyd, 31, has conducted several physical challenges over the years to collect money for mental health charities, after battling depression and anxiety herself, sometimes causing her to self harm.

Michelle, who now lives in London, has previously completed a 26-mile trek for the Alzheimer’s Society and tackled the Welsh 3,000s, trekking the 15 highest mountains (over 3,000ft) in Wales over the course of a day.

Now, in her latest fund-raiser, the former Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor student will trek over 60 miles between the UK capital and Brighton in only 24 hours.

Michelle and her team, The Coast Busters, will be raising money for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), an organisation which looks to prevent male suicides.
