A HAIR stylist is tackling Wales’ tallest peak in the dark this weekend to raise money for her terminally-ill aunt.
Karen Rees-Roberts, a partner at Kar a Lyns, Pwllheli, will walk up Snowdon at midnight on Saturday as part of a Macmillan fundraiser.
Karen, who will be joined by her senior stylist Naomi Rogowski, is taking on the challenge to raise money for her auntie, Val Jones, from Nefyn, who was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer eight weeks ago at the age of 54.
Karen, 44, said: “Cancer has affected both Naomi’s and my family over the years and I have my auntie fighting it at the moment."
Although the first £700 raised will go directly to the cancer charity, half of the remaining funds will go towards new defibrillators for Pwllheli as the generous duo wanted to help out the local community as well.
“We have raised just over £1,000 at the moment,” continued Karen.
“We still have a few days left and have various forms here and there with friends. It would be nice to reach £1,500 to £2,000 if we can.
“As ever, we’re grateful for any donation at all and hope the lovely people of Pwllheli will support us as much as they can.”
