Plans to turn a former chapel into a mosque and meditation centre in Llanbedr have been shelved.
Fatma Bodhee, a director of Jamia Almaarif Mosque and Meditation Centre, submitted a planning application to the Snowdonia National Park Authority last March to turn the former Capel Moriah in to a mosque.
The application was given the go-ahead in June, but the Cambrian News has learned this week that the group will no longer be completing the purchase.
Llanbedr Community Council told the Cambrian News they had received word from the prospective buyers to say they would not be going ahead with the plans.
