TICKETS for the Wardens’ pantomime have almost gone, even before the show has started.
Aladdin starts this Saturday, 5 January, and runs until Saturday, 19 January with shows at various times at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
But tickets are limited once again, with people rushing to book for this year’s show months in advance.
Richard Cheshire, who directs and writes the show makes a welcome return to the stage as the outrageous dame Widow Twankey.
He joins Carl Ryan as the Genie of the Lamp, Ioan Guile as the Emperor, Alex Neil as Abanazar, Theresa Jones as Nefertiti, Julie McNicholls Vale as PC Pong, Jordan Ainslie Rogers as PC Ping and Nick Allen as Sergeant Pom Pom. Aberystwyth’s very own Jordan Jones and Maeve Courtier Lilley star as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. Local youngsters also take part in the show.
The action takes place in China where Aladdin lives with his mother Widow Twankey and brother Wishee Washee.
The Twankeys are poor so when evil Abanazar and naughty Nefertiti offer Aladdin an opportunity to get rich, he takes it at once.
Aladdin encounters spirits, genies and magic carpet rides on his journey from rags to riches and back again, but will the baddies get their comeuppance? Book your tickets today to find out!
