Madam,

I refer to your article about Yvonne Gordon, ‘Redundancy blow led Yvonne to a whole new career path’ - http://www.cambrian-news.co.uk/article.cfm?id=102796Your article says that Yvonne “... is backing a campaign to raise awareness of how to access the training and careers advice that helped her bounce back”. This is great for those made redundant because of the loss of a job, but when Government policy means that someone loses all of their work, there is no help available.Towards the end of 2015 the Government announced massive and ongoing cuts to the Feed in Tariff (FiTs) for renewable energy. Contrary to what has been in the news this did not just affect the solar industry, it has had a devastating impact on all renewable energy; solar, wind, hydro... all of it.

I and dozens of my friends have effectively been made redundant by these cuts, but because we are self-employed there is no help available to us; there is no ReAct money for retraining, very little careers advice, basically no help whatsoever.

Personally I have invested more than a decade into my industry, as well as thousands of pounds in tools, equipment and education, only to have the entire thing pulled from underneath me.

Yours etc
