Madam,
I am writing about my experience on 25 August, when I was stranded from 9pm until 1am.
This was because I couldn’t get up on the stones on Borth beach. I fell three times. I hadn’t got my phone with me, so I had to navigate the sea defences, which took an hour. This was about 10pm.
I tried to get onto the stones, but fell twice which is why I went to use the sea defences. However the sand was silt and not stable. So I went back to the rocks and stones.
Meanwhile I was shouting for my husband. I shouted help, help, many times. There was no-one on the beach
Eventually at 1am, Katya and Tom heard me. They came and gave me jumpers and phoned my husband to let him know that I was safe. He was frantic.
All the police, coastguard, paramedics and the staff at A&E were wonderful. I cannot say how grateful I am. My point is that the stones should have paths at every sea defence. We don’t need a neartragedy to happen again.
Yours etc, Rose Clarke High Street, Borth.
