A new Catholic church has been officially dedicated in Penparcau.
The renovated Church of the Welsh Martyrs in Piercefield Lane, which is named after six Welsh martyrs – St Richard Gwyn, St John Jones, St John Roberts, St Philip Evans, St John Lloyd and St David Lewis – replaces St Winefride’s Church in Queen’s Road which was closed down on health and safety grounds.
Rt Rev Bishop Thomas Matthew Burns, Archbishop George Stack of Cardiff, and members of the clergy are pictured with Aberystwyth mayor Cllr Talat Chaudhri and mayor’s consort Carolyn Hodges.
