Town Council
THE TOWN council regretfully accepted a letter of resignation from Cllr Richard Dallin who has moved away from the area. Richard had been a member of the town council for many years and was thanked for his years of service.Standard procedure will be followed to fill the vacancy.
Camera Club
ON THURSDAY, an excellent evening was had, by the club when members braved the atrocious weather, to attend a Christmas meal, at The Hungry Trout restaurant. The evening was accompanied by an autumn-themed print competition, judged by guest judge, Mike Cullis, from Tenby. Between each course, Mike presented a critique of each print and at the end of the evening, selected his best three. Sheila Ellis and Gareth Parry were just pipped to the post by Kathy Ford-ham, who was awarded the Trophy Shield, this year for best print.The final meeting of the year, will be on 17 December at the Memorial Hall, entitled painting with light, outdoors, if weather permits.
Library
THE library will stay open, supported by the town council, and will continue to be run by volunteers. A hundred up club has been organised for 2016, with 50 per cent of the proceeds to go to improving facilities. Application forms for £10 tickets are available from the library.
Gospel Ship Project
VOLUNTEERS from the Heritage Centre were invited last summer to take part in a workshop for the Gospel Ship. The project arose from a print in Ceredigion Museum of a sailing ship with biblical verses on the sails. The present project aims to have texts with relevance to the present day suggested by coastal community groups around Ceredigion. The project is progressing and a ship as been acquired for 2017 which will visit Ceredigion.
