Walkers
THE walkers, led by Gillian and Helen Morley, headed for Bridell Church for their May monthly walk to Coed Pengwm and return, a distance of six miles.Early rain curtailed the numbers to 8 people and 4 dogs, but the weather soon perked up to give a bright and mild day, ideal for walking. The tracks were wet and muddy in parts but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the quiet countryside, remote hamlets, dwellings and fine country views along the way.The route followed fields and woodland paths down to Cwmffrwd before crossing Afon Pillau via a footbridge, and heading for Coed Pengwm and the nature reserve. After lunch the walkers passed Capel Ebenezer, a fine example of a 19th century chapel built on the site of an earlier place of worship, and followed farm fields and country tracks back to Bridell. An enjoyable day was completed with refreshments at the Grosvenor in Cardigan.Following the June weekend away walking in South Pembro-keshire, the next walk will be in Scanda Vale on Saturday, 9 July, meeting at the old school car park in Alltwalis at 10.30am.
