U3A

IN JUNE, Newcastle Emlyn U3A members enjoyed a fascinating talk from Ian Goddard entitled ‘From Fleece to Rug’. Ian is very enthusiastic and inspiring, and is able to fit his talk to his audience, involving us all in feeling fleeces, chatting and asking questions.Next month, on Wednes-day, 6 July we will be having a brief introduction to the work of HUTS, a charity helping adults with mental health problems. This will be followed by our AGM. The meeting takes place at approximately 10.30am at the Community Hall, and usually finishes about 12.15pm. The wine appreciation group visited Cwm Deri Vineyard on Thursday, 16 June for lunch followed by a walk, talk and tasting. The group usually meet on the first Wednesday of the month. The group is for re-tired and semi-retired people who want to live, laugh and learn together. Various groups meet during the month including astronomy, strolling, craft, family history, games and luncheon club. The subscription for 2015-2016 is £14 but the first meeting is free. For more information about the group visit the website: www.u3asites.org/newcastle-emlyn or con-tact Hazel Towle on 01559 371842.
