In the light of a budget settlement from Cardiff far more generous than anticipated, SOS Gwynedd has a simple message to Gwynedd Council: there’s no longer any necessity for major front-line cuts. You now have the opportunity, through strategic budget trimming influenced by the public consultation, to avoid the wholesale cuts to services proposed in the Gwynedd Challenge. Gwynedd’s Welsh Government funding has been cut by only 1.7 per cent, from £170m in 2015-16 to £167m in 2016/17.
