I certainly don’t think it is right and just that the council should put council taxes up for second homes.
I don’t think the council appreciates the impact of people choosing to have a second property here and putting rates up to 100 per cent is a Robin Hood way of doing things.
This, to me, is a spiteful way of getting rid of people who enrich the communities, putting money into the local economy, shops and businesses.
There is no justification for doubling taxes on a certain quarter of housing. This could lead to resentment and unrest.The council needs to think of the value that people bring to the area, and treat people fairly.
